CCTV News: Yesterday (July 29), Chinese and foreign paleontologists announced in Nan'an, Fujian that the dinosaur tracks found in Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province, a few months ago, were the first to be found in China and even in Asia.

Tyrannosaurus rex, also known as Tyrannosaurus rex, is a super-large carnivorous dinosaur belonging to theropods. Tyrannosaurus Rex was 12.8 meters long, 5.5 meters high, weighing about 6.8 tons. Its cervical spine was strong, its forelimbs were weak, and its hind limbs and tail were very developed. They lived in the last 3 million years of the Late Cretaceous, about 6850 to 65.5 million years ago. Subsequently, it disappeared in the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction.

Xing Lida, an associate professor at China University of Geosciences, said: "It is the top animal in the dinosaur food chain. By the end of the Cretaceous, we found that Tyrannosaurus Rex itself and its relatives, even skeletal fossils, were very rare. Throughout China, Tyrannosaurus dinosaur tracks have not been found, which is a very accidental opportunity.

According to experts, several months ago, a construction team in Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province, found a huge red sandstone with a strange mark on it while building roads. Experts identified it as a Tyrannosaurus Rex footprint.

Xing Lida: "This is its middle toe, this is its two sides of the toe, very strong second toe, third toe, fourth toe, the existence of this protrusion means that we can put it in the category of carnivorous dinosaurs. Other features include its sharp toenails, rounded heels and wide overall width, which means that the dinosaur evolved many features to increase its grip.

At present, the Tyrannosaurus Rex footprint fossil is collected in the Natural History Museum of Good Stone Material in Nan'an, Fujian Province. Next, the fossil will be on display with other types of footprint fossils, according to Museum staff.

Liu Liang, curator of Yingliang Stone Museum of Natural History, said: "As a true recorder of the formation of the earth, the emergence of mankind and modern civilization, the role of stone in this process is very obvious. This is why we have been concentrating on the field of fossils to constantly explore some important new discoveries (reasons)."
