China's wage report in 2019 still ranks first among the high-income groups in Beijing and Shanghai, which focus on the salaries of foreign enterprises.

On April 23, Tencent Finance, Tencent Financial Science and Technology Think Tank and Tencent Penguin Think Tank published the "Wage Report of the Chinese People in 2019" which shows the behavior and changes of the residents'wage-financing.


From the urban perspective, Nanjing and Hangzhou have more than 10,000 monthly salaries than Guangzhou. Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen are economically developed, and high-income groups are concentrated. They rank among the top three cities in the country with more than 10,000 monthly salaries. The booming "new front" cities, Nanjing and Hangzhou, follow closely behind, surpass the first-line cities, Guangzhou.


The top three cities in the national ranking are Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen, while the fourth and fifth cities are occupied by Nanjing and Hangzhou, and Guangzhou ranks sixth.


Relative to the high-income group, the monthly salaries of the respondents in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Hangzhou were mainly between 5000 and 8000 yuan, accounting for 28.59%, 24.32%, 29.57%, 29% and 33.68% of the total number of respondents in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Hangzhou, while those in Nanjing were mostly between 3000 and 5000 yuan, accounting for 28.38% of the total number of respondents in the city.


The top five southern cities occupy four places, which means that the focus of economic development is gradually shifting to southern cities. With the increasing pressure of big cities, many people begin to develop in the south. The pace of life pressure and work is not so fast, which is suitable for people to live and develop.


What about this spring's "salary"? According to the data results, in the first quarter of 2019, Guangzhou's workplace competition was relatively tense, and the absolute value of the competition index increased. At the same time, from the salary level of various positions, the overall average salary level declined annually and increased year-on-year.

According to the survey data, the average salary of Guangzhou in spring job-hunting period in 2019 is 8423 yuan, which is higher than the average salary of the 37 major cities in the country of 8050 yuan, ranking fifth.



According to the distribution of salary, the salary level in Guangzhou is relatively high. The average salary of posts from 4000 yuan/month to 6000 yuan/month accounts for 32.1% of the total number of posts, and that of posts above 8000 yuan/month accounts for 34.5%, which is slightly lower than that of the previous quarter.


Specifically, the average salary of the fund/securities/futures/investment industry is the highest, at 1135 yuan/month; followed by the banking industry, with an average salary of 10794 yuan/month; and again, professional services/consulting (accounting/law/human resources, etc.), with an average salary of 10415 yuan/month.

The data show that the salary level of all kinds of enterprises has increased year on year, and the foreign sole proprietorship still ranks first with the salary of 9125 yuan, followed by listed companies with the average salary of 9007 yuan and state-owned enterprises with the average salary of 8838 yuan. The salary rankings of private and public institutions remain unchanged, ranking fifth and sixth with 7882 yuan and 7721 yuan respectively. Compared with the previous quarter, the salary level of private and public institutions has decreased, and other types of enterprises have increased by different margins.



From the competition index of enterprises of different qualities, state-owned enterprises and institutions are more favored. The competition index of state-owned enterprises ranked first, 88.5; the competition index of public institutions ranked second, 73.0, and the two increased by 23.3 and 17.0, respectively, compared with the same period last year, and the growth rate was also in the top two. The competition index of listed companies is 63.9, ranking third.
