Video surveillance showed that on the evening of April 17, a female driver stopped at the East-West section of the Lupu Bridge in Shanghai.


First, the woman got out of the car and went outside the window of the left back seat, as if she wanted to talk to the people in the car, but the people in the car did not open the door. Then she returned to the driver's seat, closed the door, but did not start to leave.


After staying in place for some time, a surprising scene happened: the door on the left and rear side opened suddenly, and a boy rushed down to the bridge.

In the video, the woman's hand touched the jumper's leg. After the boy jumped down, the woman looked under the bridge and knelt on the ground. Her hands beat the ground many times, crying bitterly.


In an interview with relevant departments in Shanghai, the jumper was a 17-year-old boy, a sophomore of a vocational school. The woman in the video is her mother. Before jumping the bridge, the boy had an argument with his mother. After 120 arrivals, it was confirmed that the boy had no vital signs.


A vocational school in Shanghai confirmed to Red Star News that on the evening of April 17, a 17-year-old boy jumped off a bridge and died.

After the media released the video of the jumping process, many people felt grieved and distressed. The separation of children and the breakup of a family have become a sad fact.
