Asia competitiveness report: China ranks 9th for 6 years in a row
On March 26, boao Asia BBS annual conference 2019 press conference and flagship report conference released the four major academic reports of boao Asia BBS. Among them, the Asian competitiveness annual report 2019 published the comprehensive competitiveness ranking of Asian countries in the past year. Compared with the competitiveness situation in 2017, the comprehensive competitiveness ranking of major Asian economies in 2018 fluctuates somewhat. Except for individual economies, the comprehensive competitiveness ranking of most economies does not change much. For the sixth year in a row, China ranked ninth.South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong remain in the top four in terms of overall competitiveness, with an international competitive edge over Asia. South Korea and Taiwan moved up two places from 2017 to rank 1st and 2nd respectively, while Singapore and Hong Kong dropped two places from 2017 to rank 3rd and 4th respectively. Japan, Israel, Australia, New Zealand, China and the united Arab emirates rank 5th to 10th. Among them, Japan has improved its competitiveness by virtue of its economic system and innovation ability, which is 2 places higher than that of 2017. Australia fell two places from 2017; Israel, New Zealand and China remain at sixth, eighth and ninth places in 2017. The uae climbed to 10th place, up two places from 2017.
